Overview
In this role you will drive strategic sourcing for defence AGS and aircraft systems, shaping a global commodity strategy to enable a capable, cost-efficient supply chain. You will work with the commodity management team and report to the Global Commodity Manager, contributing to multiple sites and programmes. The role offers autonomy while integrating with engineering, costing, and programme teams to create competitive advantages. You’ll engage in supplier development, negotiations, and cross-site collaboration to support mission-critical defence work.

Verantwoordelijkheden
- Support profit plan goals through cost savings, working capital improvement, quality, and supplier rationalisation
- Develop and implement commodity strategies, including supplier selection and term negotiations
- Provide leadership when needed for commodity activities
- Manage strategic supplier relationships and conduct performance reviews
- Support supply base rationalisation and supplier development to raise capability
- Leverage synergies and best practices across the GKN network
- Develop supply chain solutions for bids and extensions of programmes
- Prepare Make-or-Buy data and support commodity gate reviews
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align supply chain capabilities and commercial terms with site and programme needs
- Contribute to cross-site and cross-programme commodity projects
Belangrijkste vereisten
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, supply chain, business, or related field
- Significant procurement or commodity management experience, ideally in aerospace/defence or high-tech industry
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- Experience managing complex supplier networks and global supply chains
- Ability to operate autonomously and contribute in a team
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Excellent command of English; Dutch is an advantage
- Willingness to travel internationally
- Eligibility to work on defence-related programmes (security clearance may apply)
